Jake’s House 2nd Annual Employment Expo – Toronto Recap
On October 29th, Jake’s House hosted its 2nd Annual Employment Expo in Toronto, marking another impactful step towards connecting individuals with autism and other neurodiverse conditions with employment opportunities. The event brought together over 600+ family members, candidates, and community members, as well as an impressive lineup of 30+ corporate Canada employers and community partners.
The Jake’s House Employment Expo brings together the community with over 100 of Canada’s leading businesses. We have a single goal. To match our family members with a strong corporate employer – so they may achieve, their independence. Bus loads of students, along with career-seeking individuals and their caregivers joined the Employment Expo to connect with Ontario’s labour force and diversify the employment landscape.
Held at the Toronto Congress Centre, the expo took place during daytime hours on a weekday, offering attendees access to valuable career-building resources. From resume-building to interview skills, dedicated booths were available throughout the day to help candidates sharpen their job search skills, prepare for future opportunities and be matched to current job postings.
The event showcased the commitment of inclusive employers across various industries, such as construction, technology, retail and more. All eager to meet and support neurodiverse talent. Jake’s House extends its deepest appreciation to these employers, the community partners, and the sponsors whose generous support made this event possible. Special thanks also goes to the Toronto Congress Centre for providing a welcoming space to bring our community together.
Jake’s House remains deeply committed to fostering diversity, inclusion, and equal employment opportunities. We look forward to continuing to support our families with solutions that provide hope, dignity and independence to the lives of neurodiverse individuals and their families.
