Emlyn Toner
Emlyn’s profound connection to the autism community stems from her close relationship with her three siblings, all of whom are on the autism spectrum. Motivated by her personal experiences, she embarked on a career path dedicated to working closely with families who share similar journeys. Armed with a degree in Psychology from Brock University and enriched by her participation in Centennial College’s Dance Performance Program, Emlyn spent numerous years creating and teaching dance classes specifically tailored for individuals on the autism spectrum.
Her journey at Jake’s House began as a dance instructor for the Legends Mentoring Program, a role that allowed her to seamlessly blend her passion for dance with her commitment to fostering connections within the autism community. Since then, she has become a hangout instructor and works at the head office as the Family Program Coordinator in the Employment program.
Outside of work, Emlyn enjoys dancing, reading, and belting out her favourite tunes at karaoke.
